I been too burnt out to even sketch so I thought an outing to some exhibits might inspire me.

First went to the Center for Book Arts and looked through their exhibit: Garo Manga: The First Decade, 1964-1973. Though it was small and they didn't have any original pages, the materials they did have to show was pretty good. God, I love comics.

Then headed over to the MoMA (finally.. after 10 years) since I was very interested in William Kentridge: Five Theme exhibit. Also checked out lithographs and etchings they have of Picasso's up and was pleasantly surprised. And though I don't like performance art, Marina Abramovic's work was pretty impressive.

Plus it was Free Comic Book Day today!

(COOKIES!)

I found this recipe at a livejournal group, 'bakebakebake' and I needed to bake it right away. It has Nutella, peanut butter, chocolate chips, oats - and smelled like heaven.

Mines didn't look pretty as the photos on the site - but it still tasted great. Must level-up my cooking skills some more.

I love kimchi. I think it's in my blood. The only dish I'm good at making is kimchijjige (or so sayeth my Korean friends). Today, I decided to use tuna and anchovy.

Success once again! Now I want to bake....

(2010, Chicago)

Back in NYC after spending a few days over at Chicago. It's a really lovely city. Like Manhattan but wider streets, and less sky scrapers. This huge bean was near the Art Institute of Chicago (an amazing museum). As you can see from the photos above, it was pretty overwhelming.

Been going through some personal drama, thus the lack of art from my side. Hopefully I'll get my act together the next few weeks!

Gesso all over the floor, which I covered with plastic. I have a corner in my living room specifically to paint and finally making use of it.

So I swore that I will finish 5 paintings before the end of the month. More like a test for me to see if I can make a commitment/deadlines. Plus I haven't painted in ages. Plus I must be out of my gawdamn mind.

So this painting was looking oh-key.... and now it looks like crap, once I saw it with sunlight. Bleh - GESSO, it is.

A shout-out to mi madre!

So today is mi mum's birthday. God bless her for birthing me so I can bring terror to this world (or at least at work). Too bad as a daughter, I've been nothing but a disappointment. Just means I have to try harder.

Sorry I haven't been able to update in awhile: alot on my plate these days.

Including my meal at Mr. Iron Chef's Morimoto last night. My friend took me there as a belated birthday/christmas gift. It was INCREDIBLE. We must have ate almost everything off their menu.

Haha-- I took a break. Mostly trying to fix my sleep schedule. The past week, I watched some films from the New York Film Festival. I'll write up my thoughts on them in the Estrigious site later. Eventually. All I can say is Mother (마더) from Bong Joon-ho was definitely not what I expected, especially after The Host. I loved it though.

Must DRAW again!!!!
